Grady Animal Hospital is Open for Business!
sayville.com - 5/29/2012
After months of construction, the beautiful
new building, on the site of the old Lamplighter Inn, is
finished. Sayville resident Dr, Mark Caporaso has opened the
doors to his state-of-the-art animal hospital, Grady Animal
As Sayville residents will well remember, in later years,
the Lamplighter property was neglected and run down. What a
pleasure it is to see this charming new building, carefully
designed to fit in with the surroundings.
More importantly, it's great to see a new business in town!
Dr. Caporaso (Dr. Mark to his clients) has finally realized
his vision of a hometown veterinary practice. His goal has
always been to provide pets with quality medical care with a
small town touch.
I stopped by the hospital, at the corner of Montauk Highway
and Seville Blvd., for a quick tour. I was greeted by Joann,
a veterinary technician, who was sending Mike and his two
miniature collies on their way after a routine examination
and immunization. Mike couldn't wait to tell me how much he
and his wife Dawn love Dr. Mark. They have been bringing
their dogs to him for years and are ecstatic to see him
opening this practice.
Joann was happy to show me the exam rooms, operating suite,
and special dental care room. I was surprised to learn that
all x-rays are digital, linked to a PC, so results can
be provided electronically. The facility has a beautiful
layout, and everything was bright and clean. Snoozing
comfortably in recovery was a dog who had been spayed.
Joann, a vet tech with 20 years in the field, met Dr Mark 15
years ago, when they worked together in his emergency
clinic. She is thrilled, both personally and professionally,
to work with him again.
Finally, I talked with Dr. Mark and congratulated him on his
new venture. Mark volunteers as the veterinary consultant to
the Sayville Lost and Found Pet Response Team, so I have had
the opportunity to work with him for several years, and he
cares for my own pets.
Grady Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary facility,
providing routine exams, immunization and other health care.
Recognizing that pets (like kids) can need medical attention
at any time day or night, Dr. Mark can be reached off -
hours via a 24 hour call service.
