Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy, along with the Suffolk County Office of Women’s Services, dedicated a permanent installation in the H. Lee Dennison Building honoring inductees into the county’s Women’s Hall of Fame. The new “wall of fame” was unveiled on Monday, July 12, recognizing the 29 recipients of the county’s prestigious annual Women’s Hall of Fame award since the award was established in 1994.

Among the inductees was Sayville's own Pam Raymond of historic Sayville Inn. Over the years, Pam Raymond has demonstrated a true dedication to Sayville and its many local organizations. She has strived for the betterment of the community and continues to fundraise for those in need and encourages local artists. Pam is a active member of the Sayville Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Sayville and the Sayville Village Improvement Society. She supports numerous other groups, and some include the Sayville Food Pantry, Mercy Center Ministries, The Common Ground and the American Legion's Smith-Wever Post #651.

The installation, in the southwest corner of the Dennison Building plaza level, featured individual plaques with the names and pictures of those women who have been honored so far—with room for future expansion.

“It will be an honor to recognize these remarkable women,” said Levy. “I really wish I could thank each of them personally for all the good things they have done for the county and its residents. These ‘hall of famers’ are the true pillars of our community.”

Suffolk’s Women’s Hall of Fame honors the “best of the best,” outstanding women who have selflessly devoted their energies and talents to the advancement and well-being of women in the county, pouring their time, talents, and hearts into that effort—sometimes at great personal sacrifice.
