It was another perfect summer evening and a packed park for last week's Family Friday at The Common Ground with a magic show by David Funn. The audience was filled with children on blankets eating pizza and ice cream ready to be entertained. These free shows are a great place to meet up with friends after a busy summer day.

David Funn has been entertaining children for 27 years with his magic. He claims to double the "n" for double the Funn. The children and adults in the crowd enjoyed his hour long show of magic tricks and funny jokes.

A large group of kids gathered right in front of the stage to see if David had anything up his sleeve and they were memorized by his magic. He is not the kind of magician who uses that old magic word. To make his magic work the crowd quickly learned to yell "Tomato Ice Cream", instead of abracadabra.

What kept the children interested in the show was the audience participation. For every trick David would pick a few children from the crowd along with some big people, to come on stage and assist in his magic tricks. When he asked for a volunteers, almost every child's hand went up in the air. Everyone was involved in David Funn's magic show show.

David told lots of silly jokes that got lots of giggles from the kids. The show also included card tricks, giant magic wands, rings and lots of fun. His twist on the old pulling the rabbit out of hat was finding a rabbit in a box. The kids went wild for that part of the show.

David Funn did give The Common Ground double the fun! There are plenty of Family Fridays left, so bring the kids down next Friday to The Common Ground in Sayville for another great show.
